Ratings   (explanation of our rating system)

Global rating :
Although Naeba is a famous ski area, blessed with hot springs, this seems to be the only nice baths in town! There is no mixed bathing in this ryokan, but am outside wooden bath and an outside stone bath are available (plus an inside one). However, all outside baths are covered with a roof: they might look more like inside baths for some people... The bath made of stone contains a lot of black suspension.

Size :
Two outdoor baths are available, but entrance is in a different part of the building, which means that visitors have to put their clothes on; the wooden bath is fairly large, while the stone one is much smaller.

View :
From the wooden bath, only the trees on the back of the ryokan can be seen; there is almost no view from the other bath.

Area :
Naeba is located very close to the boundary between Niigata-ken and Gunma-ken, at less than 1 hour by car from Yuzawa. This place offers excellent ski possibilities, and is connected with 3 other ski resorts (Kagura, Tashiro & Mitsumata). Naeba can be really crowded in winter, mostly due to the presence of the Naeba Prince Hotel, a huge hotel with 1800 rooms and 24 restaurants! Although there is also a golf for summer, the area is much more calm when the snow has melted.
