Zao Onsen is known as a ski resort and as every ski resort in Japan you can find many good onsen. Many different kind of water, one bath contains a high mineral water, just try to drink it but take care not to scratch your eyes with your wet hands, it hurts.

A large variety of baths with different size and type of water.

View :   
The outside part looks like a typical japanese garden, but there is some fence and you cannot really see far away.

Area :     
From Zao, you can have a little walk up to the closest mountain to watch a volcano lake, but not a lot to do if you are not going there for skiing.

Comment

One of the outside bath has this acidic pH, my advice, if you wash your face, close your eyes or it will burn.
