| | Global rating : | | This large hotel hosts an impressive onsen installation, mixing traditional onsen baths with typically european pools. Visitors enter through the traditional onsen part, where large inside baths and one small rotenburo are found. Those baths are not specially interesting. To reach the area where women and men bath together, wearing a swimming suit is required (swimming suits can be rent if you did not take your own); a large cave bath as well as another inside bath for relaxation can be found. The rotenburo - basically a large pool - is located directly under the rooms, which can explain why swimming suits have to be used!
| Size : | | The outside bath is really huge - if it wasn't for its irregular shape, it would look like a swimming pool. The inside baths - including the cave one - are also fairly large.
| View : | | The segregated, traditional rotenburo is well hidden by walls, and not very interesting for this reason. The large mixed pool is mostly surrounded by rooms, limiting therefore the view on the surrounding hills and lake.
| Modesty : | | Swim suits are mandatory. That's good, since all rooms have a direct view on the rotenburo.
| Area : | | Shirakabako is an attractive place for skiers, as several ski fields are located close to the lake.
