| | Global rating : | | Large wooden building built in the middle of Shiobara Onsen and offering a large bath for foot only. This facility was opened in August 2006.
| Size : | | Don't be fooled by the large water surface you see on the picture: this is just for the view, not for bathing! People in fact just remove their shoes and sit on coaches with their feet in the hot water, or walk on the concrete floor where stones of different sizes have been incrusted. The water depth barely reached 15 cm... People can use the two "bathing" areas which have a have-circle shape.
| View : | | View mostly on the small pond in the middle of the facility. Live performances are sometimes held.
| Area : | | Discovered 800 years ago, Shiobara is a popular onsen resort located on the Hokigawa River. Most of the onsen, which are obtained from eleven hot springs, are located close to this river, surrounded by woods. This area is especially famous during the koyo season, in late autumn, when thousands of Japanese gather to observe the beautiful colors of the trees. Although hiking trails are available, and several ski fields in winter, due to its vicinity to Tokyo, the whole place is definitively overdeveloped...

Keep in mind that people do not bath in this pool, but only put their feet in the bassin located inside the buildings... Around that pool. | | | | | | | | |
