Agalico Restaurant is a warm and friendly restaurant near the terrific Kimi Ryokan a well priced efficient and comfortable place of accomodation in Ikebukero, Tokyo.
Run by the outgoing Yoshi san it is always popular and offers bar seating or table seating.
It is mainly Thai in influence yet has a mix of delicious dishes including Tapas and Vietnamese as well as Japanese.
The Tom Yum soup is wonderfully warming, the sardines are excellent, the Pho is delicious and the noodles also.
You can drink wine and beer. The only uncertainty was sake which the staff had one bottle only of and then when they realised it was our drink of choice they got more in for us so we were made to feel welcome on the many nights we visited during our stay in Tokyo. What drew us back to this venue was its liveliness and welcoming atmosphere. The U shaped diagonally set bar filled the central area of the restaurant and the tables were clustered around that.
Highly reccomended together with staying at Kimi Ryokan. It more than satisfies the pleasure f supporting a local business while in a large city like Tokyo.
