Nikko (Tochigi-ken) - Yayoi Festival - 16-17 April

Event held since 767-770.

In fact, this festival starts already the 13th of April, when three portable shrines are moved from Takino Hongu shrine to Honsha shrine.

Those three shrines are moved back to Honsha Shrine on April 16th. The 17th, at the peak of the festival, thirteen decorated portable shrines will gather while playing music.
