Thank you all for your tips and suggestions!

I'm embarking tomorrow on a 1-week trip to Hachimantai. I think I'll walk from there to Nyuto onsen, with a possible loop over Iwate-san.

I m also considering hiking on Chokai-san or Akita Komagatake.
