Our local guy is posting his 50th birthday and when pressed as to where I can take him for a birthday dinner, all I can get from his is "steak".

I've tried researching to find a place that does good steak, has a bit of atmosphere - it's a party after all, and not in the pricing stratosphere.

I see Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is here but I have no idea whether it's any good. Went to one once in Tampa but thought it just OK (I'm Australian and we have our own ideas about what constitutes a good bit of beef).

I also see the US chain Outback is here but I have an aversion to eating at a US chain that purports to be Australian.....but would go if someone thinks it is any good by Tokyo standards.

My friend at the embassy suggested Sandaya Honten at Shinjuku but it looks a touch "quiet".

Need help quick please. I figure up to Y10,000 is OK

Check this link : http://www.secret-japan.com/forum/harajuku--amp-omotesando-restaurants-american-food-t189.html

At this address, you can't be wrong :

Barbacoa Grill - Brazilian Churrasco ****
Address - Tokyo-to, Shibuya-ku, Jingumae 4-3-24, Evergreen Bldg B1
Opening hours - 11:30 to 15:00 and 17:30 to 23:00. Open all week.
Telephone - 03-3796-0571
Menu - In Japanese and English
Credit Cards - OK

It is not really a steak house, but rather a meat restaurant. Still, the meat is the best I had so far in Tokyo...

Plus, for a party, it is really pleasant!
