Hey!
I'm gonna be going to Japan in sept for 18days. My schedule for travel is: Kansai airport-> Osaka. Then in Osaka i'll be making day trips to Nara and Hijemi. Then moving from Osaka -> Kyoto -> Tokyo -> Narita Airport.
I was wondering if it's worth it for my to get the JR Pass.
I have the conception that it'll work out cheaper if I don't buy the pass.
Can anybody help me?? |

Honestly, in your case, I would not really recommend the JR Pass. You can go from Osaka to Nara and Himeji using normal lines (JR or Kintetsu, not shinkansen), for a very reasonable cost; same goes from Tokyo to Narita Airport. A single Osaka-Tokyo shinkansen trip costs 14'000 yen, and you probably would have a hard time to manage to spend 14'000 yen on all other journeys (the price of the JR pass is around 28'000 yen for a week).
Except if you think your program might change, and you want to keep some flexibility, it would probably be cheaper to by all tickets separately...

Yeah the nationwide pass is good if you are doing at least one return trip between two regions (Tokyo<->Osaka for example).
Try looking into Kansai / JR West regional passes.
